$50 American Gold Eagle Coin Proof vs $200 Aussie Lunar Dragon
Noted that the $50 American Eagle proofs have overtaken the Aussie Lunar Dragons in prices. Which would be a better INVESTMENT?

Might depend on the year of mintage.....all the Dragons are 2000, I have those........ But the proof Eagle might vary year to year depending on various factors, not the least is mintage. Also, more people collect Amerian coins in this country so it might be a better bet - EXCEPT - that the Dragon is the most popular of the Lunar coins worldwide, and while they are going to make more dragons in 2012 but they will be very different from series 1. I am confident both of those coins will go up..... .......but, in the midst of all of this - there is the ultimate consideration........which coin attracts you more! I hsve personal preferences (there are LOTS of Proof Eagles from various years, there are only 30,000 of those dragon coins!) but who cares what I think..........you are the one who has to live with it! I know - I've been no help! |
